I hate to tell you what these graphic novels are about, because it really takes away from the magic of reading the whole first volume. What I would like to say is that they’re creative, they’re brilliantly done, and if you’re easily disturbed I wouldn’t recommend reading the first one before bed. Whether you read graphic novels often, or this is your first one, this series is a great example of what graphic novels can be and I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
With that said! If you have read the series and are as geeked up about it as I am, you should know that…..
(If you don’t want to be spoiled about these books you shouldn’t read this list, you know.)
1) I cannot wait for the fifth volume and wish I’d started this sooner so that picking up individual comics would have been a bit easier. But still. I’m so excited! Volume four left off in such an amazing place.
2) There is a board game! And I want to beat you at it, and everyone else. I wish it came with keys.
3) There are keys! They’re cool looking and I want to wear the head key on a necklace.
4) Fox made a pilot for the show, but it didn’t get green lit, so it will probably never be. It’s okay though because if Fox had picked it up, they just would have cancelled it anyway, because they cancel everything I love. (Browncoats unite!) Anyhow, there is a trailer for the show that will never be! And I can’t stress how you’ll be spoiled if you watch it and haven’t read the books. I think it would have been a pretty cool show…. and it would have been a much cooler one on Showtime or HBO.
So, have you read Locke & Key? What’d you think? If you haven’t read it, will you check it out now because you trust my brilliant taste? And also, do you read graphic novels in general? It seems like a lot of people I know are interested in checking out graphic novels, but never know where to start.

I can’t believe they’re not airing this! It looks freaking brilliant! Of course, Fox, get rid of all cool things. That’s how it goes. Ah well. I’m so reading the graphic novels. And buying all the keys. I love keys. I am obsessed with keys. And horror movies. So this is pretty perfect.

I love keys, too! Oh my gosh, if you love keys, you’re REALLY going to get into the graphic novels, especially after the first one. There is a lot of cool keys

Is it bad to admit I’ve never read a graphic novel? Perhaps I’ll have to look into this one (don’t worry I did not watch the clip so it’s currently unspoiled for me)!
Can’t say I’ve read that one, but I really do like good graphic novels. They’re a nice fun break from… dare I say “real” reading? But they’re still a great story.
I’ve never heard about Locke & Key before, but the trailer looks awesome. (Hey, that’s Miranda Otto isn’t it?) I’d definitely watch it! If Fox doesn’t want it maybe someone else could pick it up?
Also, I love keys. Keys are pretty and I would read the novels just because there are keys.
