What I Read in April 2016

April 2016 Reads

  • Shadowed Threads (Rylee Adamson, #4) by Shannon Mayer
  • Lumberjanes Volume 3 by Noelle Stevenson
  • Replica (The Blood Borne, #2) by Shannon Mayer and Denise Grover Swank
  • Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson, #9) by Patricia Briggs
  • Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop
  • Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop
  • Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs
  • Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher
  • Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill

I’m excited to start reading the third The Others novel, but I’m holding off because Robert and I have been reading Written In Red (The Others, #1) outloud. I do so much rereading (and reading of books that aren’t out yet) that I’ve gotten behind on my goodreads challenge goals. I seem to be permanently about two books behind. *sigh*

What I Read in March 2016

March Reads

  • Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace
  • The Glass Mermaid by Poppy Lawless
  • Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper, #1) by J.L. Bryan
  • Mermaid’s Den by Ella Malone
  • Beauty and the Fleet (Intergalactic Fairy Tales, #2) by Robert McKay
  • Dire Blood (Descent, #5) by S.M. Reine
  • Recombinant (The Blood Borne, #1) by Shannon Mayer and Denise Grover Swank
  • Outcast, Volume 1: A Darkness Surrounds Him by Robert Kirkman
  • The Legacy Human (Singularity #1) by Susan Kaye Quinn
  • Wraith (Debt Collector 10) by Susan Kaye Quinn
  • Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine
  • Defying Fate  (Descent, #6) by S.M. Reine
  • Maggie for Hire (Maggie MacKay, Magical Tracker, #1) by Kate Danley
  • Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs

I was so busy rereading with revisions in January and February–where I read 7 books total–that I didn’t give myself time to read. This month, I balanced time a little better and read 14 books in March, and it did not feel like enough. (It never feels like enough.)

A couple of these (Glass Houses and Frost Burned) are rereads. I was rereading Mercy Thompson at the end of 2015, and wanted to reread 7&8 before I dive into the brand new #9. I am always waiting for the new Mercy Thompson, it seems.

Don’t book covers look pretty when they’re all lined up? Books, books, books!

Wonderland is on Sale

Wonderland is on saleMy beautiful husband, Mr. Robert McKay, has put Wonderland on sale! The next Intergalactic Fairy Tales novel (Beauty and the Fleet) is coming out in a few weeks, so this is the perfect time to snatch up Wonderland and uncover all the madness.

The sales ends on Thursday the 19th, so you’ll want to jump at it while you can!

As always, if you’re interested in either of our books, you’ll want to check out the McKay Manor newsletter, where you can get a novella in the Intergalactic Fairy Tales Series (Awakened) and Deadly Divas, #1.5 (Death & Fashion) FREE. The sign up for that is on McKayManor.com.

Now, to the pretty Wonderland details!

eBook WONDERLAND

Teenage Alice didn’t mean to end up on Wonderland, but the living spaceship she commandeered had other plans, and he was very late.

Abandoned on an unfamiliar planet, Alice’s first day as a space pirate has fallen into madness. Caterpillars? Mad hatters? A Jabberwock? A queen known for chopping off heads? Alice must face all Wonderland can throw at her if she’s to take back possession of The White Rabbit and leave Wonderland in one piece.

Wonderland is an Alice in Wonderland fairy tale retelling full of action, adventure, and unlikely heroes. While the Intergalactic Fairy Tales take place in the same universe, and occasionally have overlapping characters, these books can be read and enjoyed in any order.
